Development Description: The proposed works include for the following - a) Change of use of Town Hall from current office use to proposed multi-use community space / tourism use; b) Removal of rear hard-standing car park and creation of hard and soft landscaped ‘Community Garden’ including a rear stepped terrace for outdoor events, raised beds for community / educational use with access from Quay Lane; c) Addition of an accessible ramp via side access gate off Bridge St. to enable universal access to lower ground floor level; d) Addition of accessible platform lift internally to make the two floors accessible; e) Addition of universally accessible toilets over two floors including a ‘changing places’ toilet; f) Provision of plant room and storage internally; g) Removal of a number of minor internal walls and the introduction of a number of internal and external door openings to aid internal circulation and natural light; h) Remediation of existing slated roof; i) Addition of breathable insulation internally to best practice conservation standards; j) Lifting of existing flags in the lower floor for re-laying once insulation and radon barrier is added; k) Internal and external decoration including remediation of existing floorboards, internal and external joinery including doors, windows and rainwater goods, light steam cleaning of external stonework and sympathetic improvements to nosings of external curved bifurcated stairs onto Bridge Street; l) Services upgrade including air source heat pumps and solar PV panels to north wall of rear community garden; m) Addition of signage and sympathetic uplighting of building externally; n) Any ancillary works to accommodate the above schedule of works. This development proposes works to a Protected Structure (RPS No.: 253 / NIAH No.: 30813005 as noted in the Leitrim County Development Plan 2023-2029 Volume 4)
